Becoming a Surrogate is a big decision! Helping someone realize their dreams of parenthood is life-changing and adventurous at the same time. Here’s an overview of the process to help you understand what to expect and be comfortable with.

To start your journey of becoming a Surrogate, here are a few prerequisites to meet:

  1. History of uncomplicated delivery and currently parenting at least one child
  2. U.S. citizen but not living in Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, or New York
  3. Not using illegal drugs, smoking cigarettes, or abusing alcohol
  4. Age 21-37 years old
  5. No criminal record
  6. Reliable transportation
  7. Valid driver’s license

Step 1- Application

Step 1 - Application

Submit your application for the surrogate program. Upon completion, our team will review the application and contact you for an in-depth interview.

Step 2- Matching the Surrogate

Step 2 - Matching the Surrogate

Once your surrogate application is approved, we will match you with compatible Intended Parents. Please be patient as finding the right match can take up to a week or sometimes a month.

Step 3- Prescreening

Step 3 - Prescreening

At this stage, a comprehensive psychological evaluation and medical screenings are required. A psychological evaluation helps ensure as a surrogate, you are stable emotionally and mentally. Medical screening includes a physical exam and blood work to ensure you are medically fit to begin the in vitro fertilization process.

Step 4- Legal Consultation

Step 4 - Legal Consultation

As a surrogate, you are provided legal representation to guide you through the legal contract created between you and the Intended Parents. After a complete understanding of the contract and agreement to all the terms, the final contract is signed and notarized. All legal fees are paid for by the Intended Parents.

Step 5- Transferring the Embryo

Step 5 - Transferring the Embryo

The process of IVF medication and preparation of the embryo transfer starts once the legal contract is signed. The surrogate receives a cycle treatment calendar with specific instructions. The embryo is transferred once the last set of injections is administered.

Step 6- Pregnant

Step 6 - Pregnant

During the first trimester of pregnancy, the IVF physician monitors the surrogate. After the first trimester, the surrogate returns to their OB-GYN after 10 to 12 weeks of gestation. Their OB-GYN handles the case until delivery.
